Senior Package Engineer / Specification Engineer

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Senior Package Engineer will be responsible for providing Regional support in the generation of all proposal packaged equipment pricing and preparation of technical documents for the development of the configured ION order entry package. In addition, the Senior Package Engineer will assist other Regional team members as needed to ensure that the Client proposal requirements are meet in a timely matter. This position will issue comments to specification in four categories:
- formal exception
- formal comment with associated cost/price to comply, evaluation of the associated risks.
- clarification to the client specifications (does not deviate but indicates how we'll comply)internal comment to draw the operation attention to a requirement.
Develop the control solution for the client. Specify the type of control panel, antisurge loop control, load sharing options.
Comment Process Instrument Diagram or prepare as required by PID's.
Present to the client the solutions during bid clarification meeting

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides the Regions with technical comments to Customer package related specifications to identify special, non-standard packaging requirements to help define the packaged equipment scope of supply and to obtain pricing for all available resources. Thorough understanding of packaged rotating equipment, industry standards (i.e., API, ASME, etc), and D-R practices, standards, specifications and work processes. Write and issue technical documentation as directed.
Correctly configures and maintains the Package related areas in CPC for the proposed rotating equipment and associated ancillary systems through the ION order entry process. Responsible to ensure that all proposed packaged equipment designs meet the Company design rules and current practices through coordination with Operations. In addition, the position responsibilities include the preparation of ancillary packaged equipment pricing such as but not limited to, lube oil consoles, gas seal consoles, oil rundown tank systems and other project associated equipment. Meets assigned task requirements in a timely manner, with minimal supervision. Identifies any design problems or omissions and takes appropriate action to correct them. Accept responsibility for making and then meeting work commitments. Conduct or attend engineering meetings with internal and external customers and suppliers. Trains and mentors less experienced package engineers. Strives to achieve and continuously improve customer satisfaction. Has an understanding of effective Team Communication with co-workers in all levels of the organization. Practices and encourages "plain, unafraid talk" using tact and understanding. Works well as a team player to solve problems. Helps and encourages co-workers. Conducts business affairs with the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Requires BS degree in engineering or equivalent work experience required. Knowledge of rotating machinery and/or energy industry processes helpful. Knowledge in automation, regulations and electricity.

Company CPC, AuxCalc pricing tool a plus, Working knowledge of API Standards (613, 614, 617), and SmartPerf and SmartRotor output, CICS/EES, CPC drawing and bill of material generator, Team Center (iMAN), and Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Excel). Unique or Special Requirements: Ability to work in team environment, good verbal and written communication skills.
