Senior Network Administrator

ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world's largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues if nearly $2 billion, is currently seeking a Network Administrator.  The role will provide superior customer services to Acco Brands Corporation teammates through effective support and maintenance of workstation and server hardware and software environments, as well effective support of Active Directory and standards. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by resolving customer support issues quickly, completely, and with high levels of professionalism. All duties are related to the acquisition, setup, configuration, support, knowledge sharing, maintenance, and upgrading/replacing of corporate systems and standard and approved software running on those systems. Assist in determining standards related to acquisition and configuration of workstation and server systems (desktops, laptops, and handhelds). In addition, emphasis is placed on ensuring above average reliability, performance, and data integrity through configuration and support of ACCO North America corporate network.   Responsibilities will include: Responsible for network user administration within active directory, including security, integrity, and troubleshooting as well as monitoring for potential issues and concerns. Act as administrator providing daily support of active directory and desktops/laptops including citrix. Ensure Windows/Server patches are tested and rolled out to all users, in a timely and accurate way, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Assist other Tech Services staff in resolving technical support tasks as required by providing support and training and standards for administration tasks and active directory administration, particularly as it relates to network connectivity and use of email, application and file servers, as needed. Support includes but is not limited to: Group Policy support/configuration Monitoring of systems such as patching levels/AV deployment(pattern files), file server space usage, user account maintenance as required Desktop/Laptop image creation SMS/ Wise Package creator Software Package creation/updating for use on desktop/laptops clients. 2nd level Troubleshooting of network connectivity issues to file, email, application servers Work with Desktop Services team to deploy applications via SMS or Active Directory that affect the workstation in any way. Provide assistance to IT Technical Support teammates to resolve end user problems related to PC based applications. Using appropriate tools to maintain and manage all corporate Information Technology assets for currency, standardization, security, and planning. Work with Network Engineering and Desktop Analysts on problem resolution, projects and planning. Evaluate and recommend IT products/services related to the support of IT Infrasturcture. Recommend and implement standard hardware and software configurations for Desktops and Laptops. Participate in Internal and external system auditing. Participate in on-going standards reevaluation for future needs based on experience, business needs and changes in technology. Develop and participate in ongoing, proactive support, including optimization and scheduled administrative maintenance. Maintain configurations standards and documentation, which may include documenting internal and end user policies and procedures, application notes and tips, and electronic support documentation. Coordinate projects related to support of the desktop & server environment. Develop project plans and complete assigned project tasks within designated targets. Participate in Desktop Services project implementations as required and provide guidance to other Tech Services staff on small to medium projects. Provide appropriate budget projections as needed Ability to draft Capital Expenditure Requests and proposals as needed. - 4+ years of performing Network Administration using Active Directory in multi site/multi server environment. - 2+ years leadership experience. - Thorough knowledge of AD administration including group policies, groups, users, printers and security practices. - Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator required. - High degree of technical knowledge related hardware and software. - Thorough knowledge of using Active Directory in a Windows 2003/2008 and Exchange 2003/2007 environment. - Support of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (2000/XP/Vista) including installing and troubleshooting various business applications in client/server environment. - Experience with Windows Server 2003/2008. - Experience with Help Desk type of role working with end user support and problem resolution. - Experience with SMS required. - Knowledge and experience with desktop and network management, deployment, tracking tools such as BindView, RapiDeploy, Remedy, or comparable applications preferred. - Experience standardizing through automation preferred. - Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with personnel both within and outside the company and at all levels including ability to effectively communicate with sometimes demanding clients. - Be a role model by mentoring and motivating team members to achieve high levels of performance as well as assisting other teammates with project supervision. - High level of analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills. - Exercise good judgment and prompt decision-making ability, responsibility and accountability. - Excellent service and solution oriented focus. - Self motivated individual able to prioritize tasks independently in fast-paced environment. - Ability to analyze requirements and make appropriate recommendations. - Should be available to work any shift within our service availability window, currently 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. as needed.
