Senior Mechanical Engineer Senior Mechanical Engineer Parker Hannifin Corporation, Electromechanical Automation Division, manufactures electromechanical systems for positioning and motion control.  We are accepting applicants for our Senior Mechanical Engineer position, located in Ronkonkoma, NY.  Markets for our products range from high speed factory automation (automotive, packaging, aerospace), to high-end/scientific (semi-conductor, bio-tech, instrumentation, and computer peripherals).  Our products are recognized worldwide for unmatched quality and reliable performance.  Basic Function: Handles design, drafting, bills of material responsibilities for assigned products.  Handles product design through production introduction with direction from Engineering Manager. Scope/Supervision and Interaction: Interfaces routinely with all functional areas as well as external customers and suppliers.  Works with customers to generate concept and system specifications,  provides support for manufacturing as required.  Provides technical information to customers and field sales as required.  Works well with all levels of personnel.  Supervises less experienced Engineers and/or consultants as required to complete subtasks. Key Responsibilities: · Proficient in selection and utilization of motion system components (ball screws, linear motors, bearings, etc…)· Designs, drafts, generates BOMs, for complete systems designs· Supervises assembly of parts and test fixtures for prototypes· Participates in design production meetings and teams as required· Any other similar or associated duties necessary to accomplish job objectives, or as assigned by the immediate supervisor Qualifications:· B.S., Mechanical Engineering· 5-7 years mechanical design experience Â· Familiarity with CAD software required· Must possess basic mechanical aptitude, hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision· Good communication and organizational skills; ability to foster high levels of employee involvement· Preferred experience:  Pro/ENGINEER (WF2.0), FEA, Air bearing selection  EOE  Job Requirements: Job Code : 62520806 Division/Department : Parker Hannifin
