Responsibilities:
Focus your talents on Gerber's product lines introducing lean manufacturing and systems for producing industrial, commercial, retail sewn goods, sign, and lens manufacturing. Your main responsibility will be to develop and maintain manufacturing processes in support of new and sustaining products.
In this challenging technical role, you will perform all Manufacturing Engineering tasks associated with new product development and release (drawing release, BOM creation, tooling/test fixtures, supplier selection, and cell design), while maintaining current products. You will be responsible for determining acceptable manufacturing methods, design of tooling, fixtures, test documentation and implementing changes to Engineering documentation (ECOs). You will provide technical assistance as related to the manufacturing of final products and execute projects to achieve cost reduction targets, process improvements, and quality improvements.
Originate/evaluate/process/implement changes to Engineering documentation (ECOs);Develop/Design tooling to be utilized in the construction of manufactured products;Provide assistance to the Materials Department on technical issues (drawing changes/interpretation, supplier requirements, etc.);Assist Assembly personnel in resolving problems discovered during the manufacturing process;Determine acceptable deviation in materials or manufacturing methods when necessary;Develop and maintain assembly/test documentation;Define and execute projects to achieve cost reductions, process improvements, improve quality;Perform all Mfg Engineering tasks associated with new product development and release (drawing release, BOM (bill of materials) creation, tooling, and supplier selection);Provide assistance on special projects where technical knowledge is required to complete an assigned task;
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is required, with 7+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment. Masters degrees preferred. You should have a working knowledge of lean manufacturing, manufacturing processes, quality procedures, and developing assembly instructions. Must have strong project management and proven problem solving skills. Proficiency with CAD systems is a must, as well as strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Project. Bilingual in Chinese/ English a plus.

Must be able to work under minimal supervision, and in a cross-functional team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for success.
