Job Title: Senior Drying Equipment Engineer

Role within group:
Provide drying project management and technical equipment leadership, support and direction, for both existing operations and for future needs of the Diesel and Automotive businesses in Environmental Technologies. This role requires key decisions and direction setting in the drying technology area, both for today's needs and tomorrow's requirements, in development, engineering and manufacturing. Required to have or quickly develop skills and knowledge to become a department microwave and RF technology expert.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Provide project leadership and support on drying projects for existing and future compositions and processes to support improvement programs and expanding businesses. Support and provide equipment and process trouble shooting, technical guidance to plants, engineering, development and research organizations. Provide drying equipment definition for new products & processes, scale-up/transfer to manufacturing, and step-change improvements to existing manufacturing processes and equipment. Specific skill sets and activities will include:
• Provide leadership and direction on new drying equipment projects
• Sets design specifications for dryers as a function of use and capacity requirements
• Drive technology advances from theory into production
• Provide direction and support for permanent fixes to production equipment issues
• Equipment upgrades and improvements to include programming and electrical schematic drawings
• Anticipate new process requirements and be proactive with drying equipment solutions
• Support on-going equipment troubleshooting and problem solving
• Implementing technology advances and "best practices".
• Contact point for key customers, vendors, consultants, etc.
Projects Involved with:
• Erwin Cook Upgrade for LDS and LDD AT
• Diesel Plant Line 1 LFA AT Drying process and equipment upgrades
• Diesel Plant Line 2 MW Dryer design, installation and startup
• Drive division-wide equipment upgrades for permanent fixes to ongoing production issues
• Drive convergence and other Drying Technology efforts across all plants
• Support internal and external department drying modeling efforts
• Drying liaison between engineering and research
• Provide MW and RF training across the groups in the division
Role within Group:
• Primary technical equipment resource for drying equipment
Travel Requirements (please note if international):
10-25%, may include international
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
Typical 8-5pm, flexible, some off hour work during experiments or equipment
Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)
• Proven Project Management Leadership skills
• Proven Electrical Engineering and technical equipment skills – AB Software programming, electrical schematics, wiring, troubleshooting, etc.
• Mechanical Engineering skills – solid understanding of mechanical equipment and systems
• Works well in team environment with diverse backgrounds
• Self motivated, strong work ethic and self directed - works with minimal supervision
• Capable of solving problems in a formal manner; understands approach and problem solving methods
Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)
• Knowledge and understanding of MW and RF equipment.
• Good working knowledge and experience in production environment.
• Knowledge of Celcor business and products (or ceramic materials).
• Proven presentation and communication skills.
• Solid materials, heat and mass transfer understanding, to include theory, concepts, principles and techniques
• Solid experimentation skills and knowledge; planning, executing and data/statistical analysis.

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)
• BS or MS in Electrical Eng or Mechanical Eng, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years
