Sanitation Worker

 

Position Overview:

1. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining locker rooms, lunchrooms, warehouse, office areas, production areas, and restrooms.  Also performs production area cleaning as per Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Guidelines.

2. Works as part of the Sanitation Team which is responsible for ensuring that the entire facility is maintained according to GMP guidelines established by the FDA.

3. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, evenings, or other duties other than those listed, or as assigned by their supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Cleans and restocks restrooms, lunchrooms, offices, production areas, walkways and warehouse as assigned.

2. Cleans production areas including ceiling lighting fixtures, walls, doors, air conditioning vents, using scissor lifts, ladders  and boom trucks.

3. Empty warehouse garbage dumpsters using forklifts.

4. Removes snow from walks and apply salt to melt ice.

5. Stocks production supplies such as hair nets, first aid kits, gloves etc.

6. Maintains the outside entrance, and parking lot.

7. Maintains and manages the supersack recycling and cleaning program

Knowledge and Skills:

Must be able to communicate both verbally, and written. Needs basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals. Needs to be able to obtain a forklift driving certification as required. Must work well with other departments, and associates. Must know and adhere to all Corporate GMP and Safety policies. Must have an excellent customer service attitude.

Education and Work Experience:

H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred.

One year in a similar work environment.
