Sales / Marketing Operations Manager
OSRAM SYLVANIA is the North American business of OSRAM GmbH of Germany, one of the world's largest lighting manufacturers and part of the Siemens family of companies. The company manufactures and markets a wide range of lighting products and precision materials and components for business and industry, consumers, for the automotive industry, and for the computer, aerospace and other major industries worldwide. OSRAM SYLVANIA has 22 manufacturing plants, one equipment assembly operation and twelve research and development laboratories, along with a network of sales offices and distribution centers serving all of the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Most of the company's products are marketed in North and South America under the SYLVANIA or OSRAM brand name.
Sales Operations Manager:
This position will be expected to further drive the growth of OEM/SM sales channel within the General Illumination organization. The position will be key to ensuring attainment of the Export, OLM and Glass and Components sales budget. The position will report to the channel operations manager but will also take direction from and work closely with the Export Sales Manager and the OLM/Components Sales Manager to develop, implement and track the progress of various marketing and sales initiatives.
• Manage daily sales operations for the OEM Export, OLM, and Glass & Components group. Collaborate with Finance, Operational Finance and GLBS to achieve channel goals within General Illumination.
• Develop sales plans, analyze sales activity and identify sales trends in order to capitalize on opportunities or implement corrective actions.
• Develop bid packages and associated analysis for major OLM customers.
• Work closely with the Export Sales Manager and select export customers with the accompanying direct customer sales interface.
• Implement Market Minus Method pricing for OSRAM BGs.
• Communicate and collaborate with Finance, Logistics and the SBU in conjunction with or on behalf of Marketing Management to ensure Glass & Components/OLM/Export sub-channel sales objectives are met.
• Coordinate and communicate frequently with external customers, Product Marketing, BU’s and Warehousing to see to it that customer requirements are satisfied in a timely and accurate manner.
• Generate monthly logistical and financial forecasts for SBU and management consumption via interaction with customer base and product marketing input.
• Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and only requires management input on significantly complex and unusual items
• Interacts with Sales Staff and management to ensure proper pricing and margin contribution.
• Reviews statistical analysis on sales data and information to ensure optimal sales execution and attainment of growth objectives.
• Use MyOpps pricing system extensively to manage the creation, update, and renewal of price quotes and policy exceptions.
Position Requirements:
* Advanced operational and analytical skills related to the sale of lighting products is required.
• Strong, demonstrable past experience with all aspects of SAP sales & distribution software as well as excellent MS Office applications skills required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, are a “must”.
• Some travel, including international, required.
• Experience with PowerPlay, Impromptu, MyOpps, Sonic, Essbase a plus.
• Bi-lingual – Spanish a plus.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Finance required.
• Experience of combined Selling/Marketing, Logistics and Financial Analysis required.
