The position of Sales Engineer will be responsible for selling air compressors, air compressor system components, accessories, parts, rentals and services within Western Washington. In addition, the position will be responsible for consultative services, such as energy audits, air surveys and training programs. This position strongly focuses on solution based sales.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Aggressively pursue sales of Air Solution products and services in the territory through cold calls with potential customers and relationship building with existing customers, in order to achieve yearly sales goals, increase market share and maximize profits.Work in partnership with administrative, service and sales support staff in management of accounts including parts procurement, service and maintenance to enhance aftermarket/parts sales and customer retention and loyalty-effectively manage all aspects of the buying cycle.Provide customers with engineering services and consultation including: the engineering of complete compressed air systems.Proactively and constructively analyze customer accounts to determine potential for both present and future equipment needs. Establish rapport between customers and Ingersoll Rand, matching benefits of Ingersoll Rand equipment to customer needs.Develop territory plan that identifies target accounts, dealer network, markets and industries and effectively communicate the strategy for sales growth consistently to the Customer Center Manager and/or Service Manager. Identify, educate and work with architects and engineering firms to write specifications that require the use of Ingersoll Rand equipment.Develop sales proposals, service proposals and customer presentations demonstrating a partnership type sales relationship. Maintain and submit timely sales account management of activities on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Prefer a minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business, with a strong proven ability to grasp and work with technical products.3-5 years of direct customer contact in an industrial setting. Degree may be substituted for 5-10 years experience involving direct customer contact dealing with service contract sales or compressed air system work experience.Must have a proven track record of direct sales of industrial capital equipment into industrial businesses. Excellent customer relation skills both verbally and in writing.Ability to handle multiple tasks and customer conflict is a must.
