Safety, Health and Envirnonmetal Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide a broad range of support in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Workers Compensation, Human Resources, and Training to all Managers and Supervisors in WES/Services. Assist with all other areas of employee safety and health needs. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: Maintain all OSHA record keeping and reporting. Administer safety program to maintain compliance with NCOSHA regulations.  Administer Workers Compensation program to include completion and filing of First Report of Injury, OSHA 200 Log, and coordinating return to work restricted duty positions. Conduct thorough accident investigations and set up post accident drug screens. Follow up with departments and supervisors on prevention methods. Conduct safety and training programs for all employees at WES/Services. Assists in organization training and development efforts. Assists in the development of job descriptions, and job evaluations. Evaluate, recommend, and work with all departments, their supervisors and employees to continually lower incident rates and maintain a safe working environment. Evaluate safety programs, identify gaps, and recommend and implement solutions to safety issues. Performs other safety and training related activities as they may occur. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate a wide variety of information to employees.  REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree in a safety management field is required with five years manufacturing environment experience. DOT, Fleet maintenance, Construction and Electrical Safety experience preferred.
