Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities: Inspect physical plant several times daily to identify areas of risk and identify hazards. (50+% of job) Provide required training and certifications for branch employees including, but not limited to, forklift and material handler certification, specific equipment safeguards, and all other required OSHA training. Support and assist supervisors in each department with respect to OSHA compliance. Administer disciplinary action through written safety citations and other measures outlined in the CMCR safety regulations. Motivate branch employees toward a safer work environment through administration of the safety incentive program, implementation of the employee-driven, WISE safety program, and communication of CMCR safety standards. Investigate injuries and accidents with detailed descriptions, corrective actions, appropriate disciplinary action, and follow through to ensure corrective action is implemented. Fill out all required OSHA and insurance documentation including OSHA 300, OSHA 301 and First Report of Injury in a timely manner. Complete incident reports and all other safety documentation required. Serve on the branch safety committee. Qualifications: Minimum High School diploma Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with major in occupational safety or a field closely related to the essential functions is a plus. Bilingual a plus ASSE membership and/or certifications a plus
