STL- Maintenance Technician
Position Summary:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance on automated packaging equipment consisting of blow molders, labelers and airveyors. This position demands a high aptitude in electrical and mechanical skill. Duties and Responsibilities:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the following: Working in a safe and efficient manner at all times. Conducting continuous process improvements in relation to safety, quality, reliability, scrap, and Lean.Repairing and maintaining packaging equipment such as blow molders, labelers, AMT conveyor systems, bottle unscrambling equipment, air compressors and chillers. Monitoring and evaluating preventive maintenance plans and enabling continuous improvement in speed and accuracy of maintenance and product changeovers. Resourcing for electrical process problems and installing and troubleshooting production equipment. Functioning effectively within a team environment.Attending all team meetings as required. Performing preventative maintenance and actively participating in the development and implementation of line improvements.Maintaining various daily reports in SAP as required. Other various duties as assigned.Abilities and Skills Profile:Mechanical experience- Maintaining high pressure air compressors, chillers, Sidel production equipment, labelers, conveyors, and other various automated machinery.Electrical experience- AC/DC motors, motor control circuits and devices, Allen Bradley PLCs, industrial wiring methods, ladder logics, and electronic components as needed.Technically oriented and knowledgeable in manufacturing systems.Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.Able to multitask in a fast paced environment.Strong decision making skills with limited information.Leadership skills and team building.Qualifications:3-5 years of consistent, relevant work experience.Associate/Technical Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.Basic computer skills; SAP experience a plus.Being a part of the Plastipak Team, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefit package, including health and dental insurance, vacation and holiday pay, 401(K) matching, tuition assistance and more.Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity EmployerVisit our website: www.plastipak.com/careers
