Job Description: As a result of our growth, we're currently looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to monitor and maintain our AS/400 environment. As a Senior Systems Administrator your work includes installing hardware and software, configuring profiles and security settings, processing of daily schedules as well as report distribution. In this role you'll also perform performance monitoring and tuning and makes recommendations as to possible upgrades or new equipment. The Senior Systems Administrator also provides technical support and guidance to users and maintains SOX compliance for security and deployment processes. Responsibilities: • Monitor Active jobs, job queues, and outques. • Maintain user profiles and security. • System backup and restore procedures. • Monitor System messages and respond appropriately. • Maintain processing schedules. • Monitor system performance and tune appropriately. • Maintain peripheral hardware devices. • DASD space management. • Maintain process documentation related to schedules, security, and system setup. Maintain SOX compliancy. • Basic PC support as it relates to emulation and ODBC connections. • Manage PTF process. • Software installation and upgrades. • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plan. • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall success of the department and Company. Qualifications: • Senior level AS400 Support-4 years experience required • Strong working knowledge of principles and procedures of AS/400 systems • Requires the ability to work with 3rd party software issues and maintain AS/400 software and configurations • Strong people skills, verbal and written • Must be able to provide excellent technical assistance and must be able to apply understandable lines of questioning when trying to assess departmental requirements or difficulties. Strong Working Knowledge of AS400 Environment-Including: • OS/400 • Security (Both hardware & software) • iSeries AS/400 • TCP/IP • Workstation entries • IPDS printing • LPAR’s • Performance monitoring A working knowledge of hardware and deployment software are a plus.
