Our client is relocating to Atlanta and has several positions for immediate hire!  Senior Cost Accountant, Senior Accountant, Revenue Manager, and Payroll Manager all need to be identified in the next 10 days! Must be able to spend approximately the first TWO MONTHS IN PHOENIX learning the position before bringing that knowledge to Stone Mountain.  Will have an opportunity to join a new team built with the best talent from the ground up.

 

SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT - FILLED!  PLEASE APPLY FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE IF QUALIFIED.

Apply principles of cost accounting to maintain the accuracy of standard costs/absorption accounting for manufacturing, change standard costs as required, analyze manufacturing variances and utilize appropriate accounting control procedures.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare monthly account reconciliations and inventory transaction accounting, including journal entries for internal material transfers, inventory accruals, write offs, cost of goods sold and excess/obsolete inventory reserve analysis.Change standard cost and maintain other costs as required. Research and resolve outstanding reconciling items. Be key business partner with operations and logistic managers by providing proactive analysis, advice concerning variances, cost problems, cost trends and cost improvement opportunities.Maintain and eliminate intercompany profits and reconcile intercompany balances.Assist with month end account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts as assigned and prepare journal entries related to fuel, utilities, etc.Set up and monitor scrap sales policy.Resolve accounting discrepancies. Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems. Interact with external auditors in completing audits. Other duties as assigned.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Cross train with other accounting personnel including financial statement preparation and  other account reconciliations/journal entries.Provide input on changes to controls and processes.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 6 plus years of work experience in a manufacturing environment in cost accounting.High sense of urgency, an outstanding problem solver.Master’s degree and/or CPA/CMA are plusses.Committed to continuous process improvement.Capable of managing multiple projects and effectively prioritize workload.Strong analytical skills, knowledge of manufacturing accounting systems and Microsoft office suite.
