Residential Sales Engineer-Novi, MI

Description:Eaton's Electrical Group located in Novi, MI has an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer. This assignment is in a Sales Office with the major focus being on the residential market.Primary responsibility is to manage the assigned contractor & distributor base to increase sales in the local marketplace, and provide sales and technical assistance to distributors, contractors, and Electrical Group personnel. Develop and implement a sales plan to achieve the above-mentioned goals. Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities, and communicate such information to product divisions. Maintain a teaming, cooperative and credible working relationship with other company personnel to assure customer satisfaction. Manage expense allowances and submit expense reports in a timely manner. Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines, and use sound business judgment to enhance margins. Support total quality effort by providing timely and accurate information for order entry, elevating quality issues to attention of management, ensure that accurate information flows to and from customers, implement new product programs as needed, collect analyze and utilize market intelligence data on competitive products, customer needs, preferences and buying habits. Provide necessary reports and surveys requested by Team Leader and District Manager in a timely manner. Must have a 4-year degree, preferably in engineering, and a minimum of 1 year of sales experience in the electrical industry. The successful applicant must possess a strong work ethic, good people skills, competitiveness, willingness to learn, and be adept at building relationships. Specific skill requirements include Bidmanger, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Vista.
