POSITION DESCRIPTION
As Reliability / Test Engineer you will be responsible for all testing activities for faucets, including:
•Performance, Life cycle and Reliability Testing for all New Product Development
•Performance and Validation Testing for Cost reduction and Product improvements
•Field Returns, Labor and Legal Claim Testing and Reporting
You will work closely with the Sr. Codes and Compliance Engineer to develop test plans, procedures and performance criteria to assure all products meet applicable ASME, ASSE and ANSI standards and codes.
As a key member of the product development team you will be working closely with the engineering teams in fulfilling all testing needs for new, innovative product concepts, cost reduction and product improvement projects.
You will be responsible for operation, monitoring, maintenance of all existing test equipment as well as layout and construction of new equipment needed (either in-house or oversee outside vendors).
RESPONSIBILITES
Conduct all performance, life cycle and reliability testing for new product development projects
•Develop test plans, define and follow test procedures, establish Pass/Fail criteria
•Collect test data and provide reporting and feedback to Engineering, Marketing and Management teams
Conduct performance and validation testing for cost reduction and product improvement projects
•Develop test plans, define and follow test procedures, establish Pass/Fail criteria
•Collect test data and provide reporting and feedback to Engineering, Marketing and Management teams
Testing and reporting of field returns and labor / legal claims
•Failure mode and root cause analysis, recommend corrective action in field and in process
•Write technical reports and make recommendations to Engineering, Sales and Customer Service teams
Maintain existing test equipment, test lab and machine shop area, and recommend and implement upgrades as needed
Design, layout and building of new test equipment in-house or through outside suppliers
Design, component specification, and building of rig structure
Layout and installation of plumbing and pneumatic schemes and controls
Layout and wiring of electrical control circuits
PLC programming and trouble shooting
Assist with set up for annual Kitchen and Bath industry show
Assist Customer Service, Field Sales, and Product Directors with technical and product expertise
Provide solutions for field issues and assist with troubleshooting jobsites as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
•BS or MS, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering required (Associate plus applicable experience considered)
•2-3 years experience as Test/Reliability Engineer or Development Engineer for test equipment / instrumentation required
•LabView / National Instruments knowledge strongly preferred
•Knowledge designing, layout and building of structural frames, plumbing, pneumatic and electrical schemes is required
•Experience in PLC programming and instrumentation required (Mitsubshi PLC experience a plus)
•Knowledge in technical writing and reporting required
•Analytical and organizational skills
•MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint required
•Knowledge of plumbing product standards ASME and ASSE preferred
•Six Sigma knowledge preferred
•Basic Machine shop experience desirable
•Knowledge of fluid dynamics desirable
