Regional Accounting Manager

The Regional Accounting Manager supports the Controller and the Repair Business Group by providing and maintaining accurate and valid financial information and analysis.  Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls multiple location accounting functions according to company policies and procedures. Applies principles of cost accounting to conduct studies which provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems.  Prepares forecasts and related analysis. Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. Aspects of financial accounting include: review and analyze financial statements, review reconciliations, prepare quarterly reserve analyses, prepare operating and financial reports, and provide support to auditors. Also handles administrative functions, special projects and will support the implementation and installation of the fully integrated ERP system.


Essential Job Functions:
Review and analyze complex accounting functions including adjustments, reconciliations, and substantiate entries to thegeneral ledger and other accounting systemsMonitor monthly close process and review and analyze balance sheets, income statements, profit and loss statements, and other reportsAssists corporate accounting staff in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements for GRS including supplementary schedules and footnotes
Assist in the preparation and review of elimination entries
Review and analyze cost accounting and physical inventories for proper valuation and controlAssist in the preparation and review of sales, use, and property tax filingsAssist with coordination of external audit and follow-up on reconciling items that need to be posted to the proper accounts as discovered in the audit as it relates to GRS CorporateAssist in resolving complex accounting issues and problems which may involve GAAP research for obtaining answersPrepare monthly forecast updates and provide information to corporate accounting for annual/quarterly budgets and forecastPrepare operational reports and provide analytical and decision-making support  to the Repair Business managementComplete special analysis and projects as assignedDemonstrate leadership through the use of good judgment, providing guidance to fellow team members, training others at every opportunity, and positively influencing the experience of all company employeesAssist in the achievement of departmental goals and objectives

Knowledge and Skills:




Working knowledge and competency in accounting principles and practices, experience in manufacturing or service environment is a plus.  In addition, working knowledge and competency with accounting and ERP systems is required.
Strong analytical and reporting skills and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are needed.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred, but not required).  5 to 7 years related accounting experience, cost accounting, analytical and business experience.  Solid working knowledge of GAAP, inventory and cost control.  Experience in analyzing performance to budge, preparing forecasts and preparing analysis.
The position will require travel to various U.S. facility locations up to 50% of the time.
