Quality Technician/Inspector
Overhead Door Corporation (ODC) is the market leader in the garage door and garage door operator industry. The company, which invented the garage door in 1921, has been a leading manufacturer of overhead doors for over 85 years.
The Quality Technician/Inspector will assure a quality product by monitoring processes being performed within the plant. Including: length of panels, visual inspection of panels and the stack gap measurement of the panel line. Visual and dimensional inspection in areas such as: dents, creases, paint pick, edge wave, and center wave, and detail subassembly and assembly inspections.
Duties include:
* Documenting quality of the production lines for deliverable products and packaging.
* Monitoring and reporting on production of products processed within the plant. ie. queue and stock area for visual damage, location in holding area, and skids banded and stacked; shipping and dock area for damage, correctly staged product, proper completion of load sheets, and the proper shoring of loads.
* Verify correct product handling at all work stations, inspect daily the inbound and outbound loads and products.
Skills/Qualifications:
* Proficient in the use of small inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, hardness testers and color inspection equipment.
* Must be familiar with the interpretation of engineering blueprints, and proficient in the use of computers and various programs.
* 2 years prior quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
* Documentation skills, reporting results, technical understanding and promoting process improvement skills required.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements:
* Work is performed in a manufacturing environment; involves sitting, walking, standing; and may require lifting loads up to 60 lbs.
