Responsibilities:

 

Utilize your extensive knowledge and expertise in the quality field to develop a Quality System which will extend throughout Gerber's Scientific starting in manufacturing and supply chain, linking into Gerber's supply base; then extending out to encompass all business functions and critical processes.

 Develop the process for establishing the Gerber Quality System (GQS) across all functional areas of Gerber Scientific;Develop and implement controls for the GQS, including product documentation, requirements, external standards; Maintain quality compliance records; control obsolete documentation; ensure current quality standards are in place and in use;Oversee the identification and implementation of processes and procedures for standardization, optimization and documentation;Actively participate in the promotion of process control and improvement methodologies;Own the quality audit process, procedures, and documentation for internal (Gerber) and external manufacturing; Schedule and participate in internal systems audits; generate reports to document findings; identify high-priority action items; act as point person to facilitate closure on open items;Provide ownership and control over Quality Records, to include: quality system records; audit and site inspection records; regulatory registrations; certifications, and more;Document and update corrective and preventative action items;Responsible for reporting and ensuring effective corrective action is taken;Notify internal/ external customers when updates to the quality system are made, and train as appropriate;Report on quality system-related business metrics;Develop quality planning and process initiatives, and establish initiatives with our suppliers to drive process control throughout the supply chain;Partner with supply chain department to develop a supplier management system and implement quality metrics to drive improved supplier performance; trend supplier performance; maintain supplier quality metrics; assist supply chain as necessary with data for supplier scorecards;

Requirements:

 BS in ME, EE, IE or related field required, with Ten (10+) years if Quality Systems experience; experience in lieu of education requirements, may also be considered;Five (5) or more years of quality systems experience is required;Must have experience developing a quality system and implementing in a complex manufacturing environment;Proven leadership ability is required, either direct line or dotted line; and proven ability to achieve company quality-related goals an initiatives;Background/working knowledge of quality tools, including but not limited to: Statistical Process Control, Process Certification, Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design of Experiments (DOE);Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, data-base software, and SPC software;An understanding of lean principles is required;ASQC Certification strongly preferred;Experience working in ISO certified environment is strongly preferred;Ability to prioritize and multi-task, balancing multiple priorities is required;Strong organization skills are imperative;Ability to apply a systematic approach and consistent manner to quality related workflow;Ability to follow through and drive process change;Strong analytical skills and accomplished problem solver;Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment;Strong communication skills (verbal and written);
