Quality Systems Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION: Progressive, career growth oriented Quality Systems Coordinator being sought by a manufacturer of Heavy Equipment for its Wichita, KS area manufacturing operation of 1500+ employees. The company is the 3rd largest manufacturer of its heavy equipment lines in the world. Worldwide growth will push the Business status to 2nd in the world within a few years. The position is accountable for overseeing the quality information systems, as well as, ISO 9001-2000 electronic system. This position oversees the ISO activities such as: ISO registration organization, internal audits, corrective and preventive actions, documentation control and works with all disciplines to insure facility meets or exceeds the ISO requirements. Job duties include: Identify areas of process improvement through the use of quality information, tools and techniques. Develops, implements and maintains the quality information system. Interacts with all departments at the facility to ensure they have the necessary information as it pertains to quality and shippable products. Maintains the test track tracking system to ensure test track units and checklists are completed on time. Be a resource for the Engineering, Tooling and Gage, Manufacturing and Maintenance Areas. Develops, maintains and instructs salary and hourly personnel in quality techniques and philosophy. Assures their responsible areas comply with the ISO9001-2000 requirements. Works with accounting to ensure accuracy counts of un-blued and blue units. Is a resource for quality and production personnel to help with data presentation and data collection.. Develop, implement and maintains a Quality System Program that drives process improvement that will reduce production stoppages. Collects, analyze, reports and monitors quality performance in areas of rejects, scrap, rework, vendor performance, etc. Highlights quality improvement opportunities with recommendations to the management staff. Trains and certifies internal quality system auditors. Develops and maintains in-process, receiving and outgoing inspection systems. Supports and/or participates in the company’s efforts for continual improvement. Educates, monitors, reports and assist in all aspect of ISO 9001-2000 registration. Supervise and schedule administration for Quality Dept. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5 years experience in related field required or equivalent. Experience in the field of metal manufacturing and materials a plus. Behavior: Assertive, Self-Starter, Flexible/adaptable, Innovative/creative. Junior Military Officers experience a plus. Proven Interpersonal and Communication skills and abilities. Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 or TS 16949. Knowledge of production areas. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques a plus.
