Quality Systems Engineer

 

SIFCO Applied Surface Concepts has an opportunity for an energetic professional Quality System Engineer to support functions related to selective plating and other surface enhancement technologies.  In addition, this person will assist in ensuring that products and services conform to applicable quality specifications and standards, both government and commercial as well as testing products to ensure quality standards.

 

 

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and maintain the Quality System according to the established directives. Coordinate and perform internal audits, escort external audits and conduct training.Work with other departments, customers and relevant authorities, offering assistance, information and cooperation concerning audits, reporting and remedial actions.  Plan and organize projects/initiatives, corrective and preventive, to resolve process and product issues utilizing necessary resources while maintaining proper documentation and relevant reporting.Perform surveillance assessments of systems, processes and products, to identify deficiencies and to determine remedial actions necessary.Perform responsibilities in a lawful and ethical manner.Perform quality control tests and functions as required.Responsible for Document Control.

 Qualifications  3-5 years experience in a Quality role;Bachelor of Sciences Degree required; Engineering degree preferred;Ability to conduct root cause analysis;Strong problem recognition and solving skills are a must, as is self-motivation/assertiveness;The ability to clearly and effectively communicate is required;Strong critical thinking, analysis, planning and organizational skills;Experience or training in basic/analytical chemistry and electroplating is desired;Familiarity with ISO/AS, FAA and NADCAPExcellent computer skills, including Microsoft products and Visio
