Quality Engineer - New Product Development

Job Summary Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of design & development of new products, industrial processes, materials, and products. Responsibilities 1. Supports development of new product and existing product improvements through active participation and/or leadership, of FMEAs, PFMEAs, FEAs, Design Guidance product builds, Design Confirmation product builds, Design Verification, Trail Runs, identifying CTQs (Critical to Quality requirements) and Transition of new product and changes into production. 2. Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.3. Performs quality engineering reviews of design practices and documentations for compliance with stated requirements/specifications, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.4. Applies statistical process control methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes. 5. Reviews all purchased products or components and provide input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.6. Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.7. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.8. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.S or B.A) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
