Quality Engineer II/III/IV
Responsibilities Position Summary: Apply knowledge to the completion of quality engineering assignments. Assist in more advanced quality-engineering functions, including root cause analysis, implementing corrective/preventive actions, driving process/product improvements and improving control plans.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Perform advanced quality assurance assignments and projects; participate in new models development process; perform Quality Management System documentation activities
2. Coordinate complex product/process capability studies
3. Lead problem solving teams; identify root causes, implementing corrective actions and verifying effectiveness
4. Develop product/process procedures, including development of performance metrics
5. Perform statistical analysis used in problem solving and quality improvement projects & Six Sigma teams
6. Perform layouts, read and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
7. Investigate customer complaints, develop corrective action plans and verify effectiveness
8. Lead Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) teams
9. Train other department personnel in quality activities
10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Job Skills Requirements:
· Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse group of internal and external customers in person, on the phone and electronically along with ability to prepare and present technical information
· Good technical knowledge and background of quality and manufacturing processes including geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD & T), layout and gaging; machining methods and assembly processes; statistical process control (SPC) and statistical techniques; knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools including control plans and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); analytical and problem solving skills with project management skills a plus
· Good time management, prioritization, organizational and planning skills
· Ability to work with minimal supervision either individually or in a team environment, along with flexibility to ensure team coverage of all quality-related activities
· Proficiency in MS office and other applications beneficial
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Bachelor's degree in related technical field with Quality Engineer Certification or Black Belt Certification, or equivalent experience combined with Quality Engineer Certification or Black Belt Certification
Experience Requirements:
· Minimum of 3 years of related experience in engineering, purchasing or quality field; fundamental quality experience in machining or electro-mechanical or assembly type operations or equivalent experience preferred
· Enterprise wide reporting system experience preferred
