Quality Engineer I

  JOB DESCRIPTION: Working under the direction of the Quality Manager provide general and technical support to the Quality Assurance Department in inspection and assembly qualifications, and other technical support activities. Provide operational efficiencies while adhering to Work Instructions (WI’s) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) by performing the following duties.  EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations and under minimum supervision. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: BS/BA degree in a technical discipline, certificate or equivalent zero to 10 years related experience and/or training (depending on the level).  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implements statistical techniques for product control. Participate at mold trials in both testing and operations as needed. Work independently to provide inspection information and an understanding of part acceptability to the Process Engineer, Quality Technician and Inspector. Compile and ensure the accuracy of all necessary documentation in support of assigned projects. Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis. Document test results and provide interpretation of information to the Quality Manager/Operations Manager regarding stability of the process and resultant dimensions and cosmetic/aesthetic attributes. Make recommendations where necessary to optimize product quality. Assists Continuous Improvements Teem (CIT), and meeting that address quality and compliance issues and submit recommendations. Interface with the Engineering, R&D and Quality personnel to coordinate and/or expedite part inspection. Perform reasonably related duties as assigned. Perform independent problem solving activities as needed.
