Purpose: Responsible for all facets of first article inspections, vendor final inspections, in process inspections and other duties as required. Decides whether to accept or reject work at various inspection points.     Principle Accountabilities: Performs all facets of first article inspections.  Perform all facets of vendor final inspections.  Performs all facets of in process inspections. Good understanding of visual inspection process and machining processes. Good computer skills. Good verbal and written communication skills.  (Apprentice will shadow this individual to gain knowledge.) Fully knowledgeable in the use inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, profilometers, indicators, thread gages, pin gages, bore gages, etc.). Strong blueprint-reading abilities. Working knowledge of GD&T. Intermediate to advanced shop math skills, especially trigonometry and geometry. Good working knowledge of platings, etc. Full knowledge and understanding of safety protocol as it applies to job functions and manufacturing work environment.
