Quality Assurance/Manufacturing Engineer

A Worcester, MA manufacturer is seeking a Quality Assurance/​Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for a wide range of engineering activities associated with the control and efficiency of the manufacturing process and the quality of the finished product in a sheet metal fabrication environment.​

Will liaise with Design Engineering to assist in the release of new product projects (NPI) to manufacturing.​ Will assist in the analysis and development of production equipment, tooling, jigs and fixtures, assembly lines (cell development) and quality control equipment and systems.​ Will write work and inspection instructions, conduct employee training, and collect and analyze data to identify and correct manufacturing problems.​ Will lead NPI project teams to create FMEA, PPAP, DFMA, Root Cause Analysis, etc.​ to meet the requirements for Development Process Quality Tollgates.​

For mature products, will create CAR and ECN action item requests related to quality problems or customer complaints, and lead containment efforts to prevent nonconforming product from reaching customers.​ Will perform audits of key internal processes across the business in support of ISO9001 compliance, and lead improvement projects focused on quality and cost reduction.​ Will create reports and presentations using a full range of MS Office tools.​

A Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree is preferred along with 5 years of relevant experience.​ 6 Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification and ASQ certification (CQE, CRE, CMQOE, CSQA) is desired.​

Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and must be comfortable interacting at all levels within the organization.​
