Purchasing Coordinator 

 

One of two Purchasing Coordinators, reporting to the Purchasing Manager in a small manufacturing company in the Greenspoint area, that is required to interface with outside vendors, manufacturing, inventory control, and accounts payable as well as other parts of the organization, including Senior Management of company. 

 

Functions:  procure goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, parts, and supplies.  This position impacts the company’s profitability through the key activity of negotiation for best prices, availability, and delivery from suppliers. 

 

Qualifications and attributes required by individual:

- ability to communicate (orally and written) and obtain information internally in order to achieve results for the company

- temperament to work in a fast-paced, aggressive-growth business environment

- strong negotiation and communication skills

- understanding of Purchasing’s interface with Accounts Payable and Inventory

- team player, detail-oriented, fast learner, friendly, and energetic

- experience with Macola a plus, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required

- Spanish a plus

- four year college degree and/or five years Purchasing related experience required
