Prototype Assembler (2839)

Location Carlsbad CAJob Responsibilities This is an exciting opportunity to perform a wide  variety of electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly and rework operations.Our ideal candidate has direct related experience, has a winning attitude and is team driven. Duties include: Work on assemblies or sub-assemblies including mechanical assembly of rack mount and stand alone chassis, circuit card assemblies (CCA's), and cable and harness assemblies.  Utilize schematics, engineering drawings, verbal and/or written instructions in performing, mechanical component installation, wiring, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.  This includes assembling of rack mount and stand alone chassis, through-hole, surface mount and mixed technology circuit card assemblies, and all types of cable and harness assemblies.  Inspect any of the above items and verify compliance with parts lists, approved vendor lists, engineering drawings, change notices and selected workmanship standards.  Experience/Skills Required 5+ years electrical and mechanical assembly experience in a military or commercial electronics environment including working with rack mount and/or stand alone chassis level assemblies, surface mount and/or mixed technology circuit card assemblies (CCA's).  Must have the ability to read blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings and BOM's.  Must be experienced with most hand tools, including crimp tools and torque tools required.  Experience with coaxial, ribbon, and discrete wire and cables required.  Intermediate reading and writing ablility and a high degree of manual dexterity required. Experience using computer to retrieve engineering drawings, and communicate via E-Mail required.  Mil-STD 2000 certification or IPC-610D experience preferred.  ESD procedures required.  Fine pitch soldering experience preferred.  Microsocpic inspection experience preferred.
