Scope:
Project management responsibility for high priority new product and/or process initiatives.
Job Description:
This individual will be responsible for managing the implementation of New Product Development Programs that require extensive cross-functional and cross-site (including international) coordination. Projects will primarily involve New Product Development for ceramic Bath and Kitchen fixtures. He or she will manage project plans, timelines, budgets, team members, and resources while monitoring the process from concept through implementation. Design for Six Sigma and NPD Stage/Gate processes will be utilized to maximize the quality, speed, and business impact of the projects. The Project Manager will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Design, Logistics, and Procurement functions to ensure that optimal business solutions are implemented. Specific responsibilities will include:
• Defining critical process / product parameters and their targets.
• Managing, planing, scheduling, communicating, facilitating, and reporting project related tasks.
• Supervising the work of project team members to ensure that project goals are achieved.
• Identifying risks and formulating and executing abatement plans.
• Breaking work down into manageable tasks required to meet project objectives and assigning and/or directing the work of others.
• Leading cross-functional teams.
• Reporting progress to senior management in regular Stage/Gate presentations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, a Physical Science, or other analytical discipline is required. Masters degree is preferred.
• Eight or more years of experience in new product or process design/development.
• Candidates with Spanish and/or Mandarin Chinese language fluency are highly preferred.
• Two years of experience in project management.
• Project Management experience in a consumer durable goods business strongly preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to travel up to 35%.
• Knowledge of MS Project or equivalent project management software is preferred.
