Project Engineer Plant Engineering

Our Tubular division in Fairfield, AL has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer. The position will report to the Director, Plant Engineering, and the responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Basic Function: Project engineering related to plant wide capital investment. Project ownership involves concept to installation. This requires coordination with various internal and external customers to identify the best solution for U. S. Steel. This also requires daily decision making and consensus building. Supervisory Responsibilities: Giving direction in the form of specifications to contractors for installation of projects.
Experience Requirements: 10-15 years project management experience. Knowledge of National Electrical Code. Comprehension of variable speed drives - AC/DC. Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Software application development. Must be familiar with PC operationsoftware to include: Win2000 or better; AutoCAD 2000 (general knowledge); Finite element Analysis (general knowledge). Basic network understanding. Project costing. General concept of material strengths. General understanding of Heat Transfer/Thermal Dynamics.
