Project Engineer Mechanical- M03
MAJOR PURPOSE OF POSITION
Assist supervisory engineers in those phases of product development and design activities relative to applicable product line. May perform functions described under Design Engineer.
JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Create multi-component designs which are functional, reliable, and cost-effective by utilizing established design criteria and design expertise, interfacing with vendors as required.
2. Generate layout drawings of complex structures, mechanisms, gear-trains and complete designs with minimal supervision.
3. Perform functional design checking and approve completed drawings to assure functionality, reliability and completeness of design.
4. Guide and give technical assistance to drafters, layout drafters, designers and design engineers, establish work requirements, provide training guidance, and conduct timely review of work activity.
5. Aid the overall effort toward sales and customer satisfaction by assisting in field and shop problem solutions and providing technical data and support on parts and sales inquiries.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited engineering school or job knowledge gained through experience as defined in "Type and Length of Experience" for this position.
TYPE AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE
This position requires 3 years of experience in learning both the engineering procedures and the design characteristics of the product lines to which assigned.
