Position Title: Project Engineer: EM Design – 8571 (Dublin, GA)Position Summary: Design engineer with 10+ yrs experience in the design of mechanical and electromechanical actuators. Must be familiar with the detail design of components such as ball/acme screws, gears and gear trains, electric motors & brakes and similar equipment.Responsibilities: * Perform power, loads and stress analysis and problem solving methods to support sustaining & new product development* Primary technical point of contact for both internal and external customers* Overall technical project responsibility performing and directing design activities* Familiar with Design-to-Cost, Design-for-Manufacturing & Assembly, and other cost reduction methodologies* Create high performing and cost effective layouts of electric motor driven actuators used in aircraft flight controlsRequirements: 1. Bachelors degree (BS) in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through eight or more years of related experience.2. Experienced in the design and operation of mechanical & electromechanical actuators and components used in aerospace applications3. Able to create and support detail design from layout drawings or from customer specification.4. Able to review and approve engineering documents, drawings, procedures and specifications. Familiar with testing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electromechanical components5. Able to lead a team of designers and support engineers in the design and development process and able to manage the technical portion of a product development program6.
