Progressive Thinking Human Resource Manager

The company is  a global leader in high performance engineered materials that enable customers to meet superior levels of product strength, reliability, miniaturization and weight savings, thermal dissipation, electrical conductivity and reflectivity.  They are currently looking for a progressive HR Manager to oversee their growing plant in Brewster, New York.

In this role you will support the achievement of the corporation’s short and long-term objectives through the development of strategies, policies and practices that pro-actively address the HR needs of the facility.

 

Provide senior leadership, counsel and services to all levels of management within the Brewster facility on all aspects of human resources management.

 

Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, employee representatives, local/state governments and the local communities surrounding the facility.

 

Ensure that the company values, ethics and the global Code of Conduct are followed and adhered to.

 

Attract, retain and motivate quality employees through the innovative management of compensation and benefits, training and development, and succession planning.

 

Provide professional staff support in the continual review process of the organization structure of the Brewster facility.





Maintain all current and develop and institute all new personnel policies and / or procedures.

Develop and maintain salary and wage administration system.  Monitor activity to assure compliance with current laws and fair labor standards. Participate in salary surveys to assure competitive rates are being utilized.  Monitor ongoing activity to guarantee compliance and competitiveness with the system.

 

Maintain overall supervision of the organization’s recruitment, placement, and training programs and ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.  Oversee affirmative action program.

Function as liaison between management and labor to assist in the settlement of disputes and grievances.  Guide managers and supervisors as well as employees to ensure the positive disciplinary program is followed according to policy.

Keep abreast of new developments, mandatory regulations and laws governing employment, wages, hours, and apply relevant principles.



The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Human Resources with an extensive background in a manufacturing facility.  Must be familiar with latest trends and tools being used in HR.
