Lorillard, a leading manufacturer of tobacco products, has the following opening in our Information Technology department in Greensboro, NC.

Responsibilities of the position include maintaining/building LIMS configuration programs and Crystal Reports for methods supporting the Research and Development and Quality Assurance Laboratories as well as the Production Quality Control department. Additional responsibilities include (a) preparing unit test data as required for testing functionality, (b) preparing comprehensive procedures for using the application, (c) testing the application by utilizing the written procedures to ensure accuracy, and (d) support training of user personnel on the use of computer systems by reviewing written procedures and applications features.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*
Successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree in Information Systems or related major with one (1) year programming experience; or BS/BA degree with two (2) years programming experience; or Associates Degree in Information Systems with two (2) years programming experience. (Related Information Technology experience and programming courses will be considered and may in some circumstances be acceptable.) Ability to code, test and document software in the appropriate programming language using standard techniques; experience in planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple tasks independently; competent oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
The following skills are preferable:Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice processes and terminology.Programming experience in a Laboratory or Quality Assurance environment.Experience in configuring or writing programs for event-driven processes in a Microsoft Windows environment.Experience writing SQL queries as well as Stored Procedures and Views for Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 environment.Experience developing Crystal Reports in version 9.0 and higher.Good working knowledge of a Terminal Services environment and Windows 2003 Server technology.
The following skills are a plus:Experience with LabWare LIMS and LIMS Basic programming.Experience with MS Windows Client/Server and Web development using HTML, ASP, VB, VBScript, JavaScript, XML, CSS, and Visual InterDev.Good knowledge of IIS Administration and Internet Explorer configuration(s) and Apache’s TomCat Java Server.Experience developing Business Objects Reports.
