Program Manager

Responsible for planning and facilitating Jim H. McClung Lighting Center programs to ensure the educational and customer experience, promote product and innovation development, support corporate philosophy and generate business and growth for ABL. Key position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, generating program agendas appropriate for the audience, securing qualified speakers, confirming with other JHMLC staff that logistics are scheduled.  In addition, the Program Manager is responsible for auditing and reviewing program presentations and presenters to confirm that adult learning principals are utilized in delivery methods and coordinating with  subject matter experts to update presentations when necessary. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the implementation and completion of the following program types: Specifier Seminars; Special Visitor Programs (International Sales, C&I Sales, Grainger, National Accts, etc.); Application Based (AIA programs); Vertical Market Seminars; Festival of Lights Participation in industry events as appropriate (IES conferences, energy and sustainability shows, IFMA, BOMA, etc.) and speaking in the industry circuit; Active membership in local IES Analyzing market research industry trends Assist with maintaining the quality and upkeep of the facility by staying abreast of new trends, product introductions and corporate initiatives.This includes attending product training/introductions hosted by value streams Coordination and implementation of remote training programs/opportunities Creation and development of new program content, seminar  topics and educational courses Minimum Requirements:Education: Bachelors DegreeExperience: 3 - 5 years lighting industry exp. ; Proven knowledge & understanding of how to effectively prepare and deliver a presentation; Knowledge, skill, & ability to discuss Lighting Fundamentals; Working knowledge of sales channels and competition. Lighting Certified required or intent to be certified within one year of hiring. Preferred Requirements: Education: Bachelors DegreeExperience: Above and beyond the requirements defined as "minimum". 5 years lighting related experience; Lighting Certification credentials; Familiarity with Acuity Brands Lighting products; Proven knowledge and understanding of Adult Learning Principles and Training .
