Production Supervisor
SUMMARYThe Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for providing supervision and work direction to production employees to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded with all products produced and that the company only incurs a minimum of product spoilage during the production process.All job responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the company's Principles of Ethical Business Conduct.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES1. Lead, coach, mentor, motivate and inspire direct reports to achieve optimum results by consistently demonstrating role model behavior in all that is said and done.2. Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.3. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment4. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces company and OSHA safety regulations.5. Explains work orders to Associates and assigns duties.6. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.7. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.8. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase line efficiency.9. Analyzes and revolves work problems and/or or assists workers in solving work problems.10. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.11. Maintains time and production records.12. Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.13. Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports in a timely manner. Recommend increases in compensation in accordance with pre-determined guidelines.14. Participate in the annual Management Resource Planning (MRP) process. Ensure that career development plans are prepared, communicated and appropriately maintained for all direct reports.15. Ensure that all aspects of the ISO procedures, and Quality Policy and Objectives are understood and enacted.16. Participate in and satisfactorily complete all required training programs for the assigned position.17. Perform other duties as assigned by management representatives within the scope of responsibility and the requirements of the job.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEThe position requires an Associate of Arts Degree and two years experience in a production environment, preferably at the supervisory level or the equivalent in education and experience. The position also requires personal computer expertise in the use of Microsoft Office software to include E-Mail, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Excel and the use of Internet Explorer.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSNone are required.LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents, ability to respond to common and complex inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community, ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format and the ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or customers.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY Ability to define routine and complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
