Production Planner
Summary: Plan and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial products in order to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules. Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead-time to each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer order.
Responsibility: To provide support to the manufacturing production teams to ensure the distribution of supplies and parts meet production schedules. Analyzes production specifications, plan capacity data, and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands, review documents such as production schedules, work orders to determine materials requirements and material priorities. Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, production, engineering and shipping. Confer with departments’ supervisor and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes, distribute production schedules and work order to departments, plan production commitments and timetables for business units. Interface with Purchasing globally to trigger reorders at the right time and of the right quantities. Optimize inventory and WIP. Record productions data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures. Experience includes but not limited to 2-4 years experience, knowledge of math, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications, economic and accounting principles and practices, knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods, and strong knowledge of MS office. Ability to problem solves and has strong written and verbal skills, and manages one’s own time. German language skills a plus.
