Production Manufacturing Engineer

Production Manufacturing Engineer Description: Our client company is looking for a Production Manufacturing Engineer in their Petaluma facility to support our client's capital equipment product line as both a Product and Manufacturing Engineer with the following responsibilities: Provide support for existing manufacturing processes Develop innovative manufacturing processes for new products Drive continuous quality and efficiency improvements on new and existing manufacturing processes. Design, develop, modify and evaluate products from the product definition/planning process through the production and release process. Serve as resource for the designing, processing, manufacturing, testing and marketability assessments for product(s) Provide Manufacturing with processes, tooling, fixtures, assembly aids, etc. to improve product quality, manufacturability, and build efficiency. Develop and document methods and process specifications. Support/lead transfer of new products from design to production. Evaluate new product design and customer orders for feasibility. Oversee the building of production prototypes for new and custom products. Provide technical assistance to Purchasing for vendor evaluation, selection, and sharing of manufacturing technology. Review, approve, and implement Engineering Change Requests and Bill of Material changes. Mentor and transfer knowledge to more junior staff members. Requirements: Required Skills: Qualifications include Skills in and Knowledge of: Statistical Methodologies including Gauge R&R, SPC, Metrics, FMEA/DFMEA, Design of Experiments, DFSS. Lean /TOC concepts such as 5S, Flow, Line Layout, TPCt, takt, Daily Rate, Kanban, JIT, TPM, etc. Scientific Method; Taguchi, Shingo, 8D, etc.Required Experience:The successful candidate will be required to have: Bachelors (BS) degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years work experience, or Masters with 4+ years of work experience Successful implementation and application of Lean Manufacturing concepts and applications Proven experience in Fixture/tool design Experience with design and implementation of basic Manufacturing principles and applications Lifecycle Management from Development through concept, prototype, pilot and productionLocation: Petaluma, CA Type: CONTRACT Duration: 90 - 120 Days Pay Rate: DOE Contact: Volt Technical ResourcesVolt Workforce Solutions131 Stony Circle, Ste. 990Santa Rosa, CA 95401PH: 707/568-2930FX: 707/568-2934  Connecting talented people and respected companies.
