Production Leader - 2nd shift, Assembly

Responsibilities:

Responsibility for administering, directing, and supervising production activities pertaining to assembly and shipping/receiving.  Ensure that safety, production schedules, products, and deliveries meet internal and external customer quality standards within budget constraints.  Manage the facility in a manner that fosters and maintains a positive team based environment.  Ability to provide leadership in a Lean manufacturing system (including 5S Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Error Proofing, Total Productive Maintenance, Kaizen Events using Lean Metrics and Visual Management).

 

Skills:

Strong leadership skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence improvements.  Computer literate with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.  Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 

 

Experience Required:

3 – 6 years of manufacturing production management experience.  Supervisory experience in a union environment and dealing with union leadership on a frequent basis.  Proven track record of continuous improvement and the achievement of improved manufacturing performance metrics.

 

Experience Desired:

Background in managing self directed work teams.

 

Education Required:

BS degree in Business Management, Industrial Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
