Product Marketing Manager J98

Position Objective:
Directs and defines principal market requirements which result in the formulation of the overall product strategy and results in the annual business plans for new programs and/or products. This position will be responsible for overall product; positioning, definition, promotion, pricing, lead time and profitability.


Job Functions:
1. Analyzes and defines the market for overall product strategies and opportunities; including, but not limited to, developing product marketing plans by preparing objectives, strategies, tactics, profit and loss projections, including short and long term strategies.

2. Utilizes innovative solutions, and constructive thinking to recognize market trends and directions to help develop annual business plans outlining product line strategies and tactical action plans.

3. Updates senior management with monthly strategic plan overviews.

4. Assures the successful launch of new products by assuming responsibility for planning, promoting and introduction.

5. Assures timely and effective product development by proposing new products, modifications, and accessories, and by monitoring product development progress through Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Beta sites in order to monitor costs and curtail delay and correct any in process issues.

6. Conduct end market research, segmentation, requirements, and trends. Evaluates product acceptance by interviewing customers to determine satisfaction, identify new application requirements, etc., and by monitoring Manufacturing and Quality Assurance to prevent product deficiencies.

7. Represents the company by active participation in industry presentations, technology based symposiums, and/or other technology or industry driven functions, domestic and abroad.

8. Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including
mutually agreed upon objectives.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering and/or business, MBA preferred, and five years of combined product marketing and/or engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
