Product Manager - Technical Furniture

Reporting to the Business Unit Leader, Technical Environments, has product line management responsibility of Console furniture product line. The Product Line Manager will develop detailed market and product requirement documents identifying market opportunities. The Product Manager will manage the entire life cycle of eth assigned product line including Concept Generation, Business Case Rationale, Feasibility, Design, Development, Launch through Product End of Life.  The Product Manager is the primary interface to Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Marketing Communications, managing and leading cross-functional teams to complete product development projects.  The Product Manager assists in qualifying partnership opportunities and working closely with strategic business partners. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as solid organization skills and most importantly a strong personal drive that positively impacts colleagues, business partners, peers and supervisors.  3+ years product management experience in the Office/Lab Furniture market is preferred. Responsibilities (Essential Functions): â€“  Conduct ongoing market and competitive research and analysis.  Communicating findings to the organization–  Develop Market Requirement Documents (MRD) to help identify market opportunities.–  Prepare Product Requirement Documents (PRD) to in-house or 3rd party engineering teams to ensure the right product at the right time and at the right price–  Develop and manage product roadmaps–  Develop and manage 30/60/90 day product development project planning–  Coordinates Build / Buy decision making with cross-functional project teams–  Manage, qualify and quantify custom products driven by customer and application requirements.–  Provide high level of technical and application support to direct sales team, VAR and reseller channels, OEM and Strategic Account Client base.–  Primary interface between sales/product marketing and engineering/manufacturing.–  Works with the marketing communications team to create promotional material including brochures, videos, technical specifications and various other sales support collateral.–  Develop strong relationships with all of our current and new technology vendors to understand their products, support structure and ensuring we maximize every technical opportunity.–  Propose organizational process changes that fit the go-to-market strategy and help the organization move faster, more cost-effective at unsurpassed quality levels.–  Develop Sales tools to assist Sales Reps with market penetration and closing new business. Required Skills/Experience: â€“  BS/BA in Marketing, Business or Mechanical Engineering preferred–  3+ years experience in product management capacity–  Console or Technical Furniture experience preferred–  Strong project management and organizational skills necessary –  Ability to drive and influence cross-functional teams –  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and technical documents–  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, engineers, customers and industry analysts–  Ability to analyze data, define problems, and draw valid conclusions that result in solid recommendations–  High level of energy and personal drive–  Up to 25%  to trade shows and customer sites for technical support/presentations Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned including temporary and permanent assignments or responsibilities.
