- - Manage new product initiatives from concept to implementation on NAFTA MB engines. Provide technical assistance and implementation information to Detroit Diesel engine sales and service representatives. Represent the end customer perspective in new product development. REQUIREMENTS: '' Chair Detroit - based MBE cross functional team which analyzes new product initiatives from sales, application engineering, manufacturing and product engineering. Coordinate proposals with global simultaneous engineering teams. '' Prepare business cases for approval of new product initiatives by functional team or Global Product Team depending on threshold.'' Develop and maintain major project schedules. Advise key stakeholders and/or sponsor of delays to key deliverables.'' Manage and implement all aspects of released MB engine engineering changes which impact NAFTA '' OEM coordination, service parts, technical documentation and preparation of business cases for possible field action if warranted'' Bring new products or product improvements to market in timely fashion to benefit market opportunities or decrease warranty exposure.'' Lead functional team on current product cost reduction initiatives.'' Prepare and present professional presentations to external and internal customers.'' Keep management advised of major product concerns and follow up until resolved.'' Work on special projects which focus on increased penetration opportunities. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor''s degree in related field or 5 years practical experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. At least 3 years engine, parts or related experience. Knowledgeable of Detroit Diesel products and policies is preferred. Effective oral, presentation and written communication skills. Proven analytical ability. At least one year supervisory or project management experience. Technical knowledge of diesel engines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
