Product Manager

Position: Commercialization Product Manager

Location: Bellevue, WA Responsibilities Lead cross-functional teams in project organization, definition of deliverables, schedule, status reporting and successful completion for current and future product initiatives. Collaborate with key functional areas within HTC Corporate and HTC America in order to ensure contributions align with product strategy and road map. Work with the marketing product planning team to validate hardware and software capabilities as well as provide a high level schedule for future products Manage the product customization requirements for hardware, software, packaging and application development with respect to launching products with carrier customers. Create and manage detailed schedules for all new products and the maintenance releases on existing products Manage the customization and delivery of all color/material/finish (cmf) related components through new product entry and product refresh cycles Develop and maintain effective working relationships with cross functional teams at HTC headquarters and in the North America offices to assure the successful development and execution of the products Collaborate and build long-term relationships with customer's program management, offer managers, product managers, marketing, sales operations, engineering and customer care to execute a successful launch. Communicate openly and provide regular updates to team members, peers and senior management regarding product launches and initiatives, this will include risk assessment and monitoring to understand vulnerabilities and contingency planning to product launch planning Best practice assessment and sharing to constantly improve the implementation effectiveness and shorten the cycle time of product projects Collaborate and build long-term relationships with customer's program management, Offer Managers, Product Managers, Marketing, Sales Operations, Engineering and Customer Care to execute a successful launch. Manage the customization and commercialization of products for new and existing wireless operator customers. Projects occur along all stages of the product lifecycle from concept development, to technical evaluation, to technical approval, launch, and sustaining activities. Identify, design and document customer & business requirements to guide go-to-market activities. Work with internal CPM partners to distribute and manage workload between local teams in Seattle and development and manufacturing teams in Taiwan. Measure and report on a range of product performance metrics, and create actionable plans to reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction, lower churn, drive ARPU and improve Company's strategic position.
Requirements Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish broader goals and objectives. Knowledge of mobile terminal architecture and user interfaces. Experience in driving initiates to meet aggressive timelines for interim and final deliverables. General knowledge of CDMA and/or GSM network and service architecture. Ability to work in flexible work hours in an international business environment Exceptional collaboration and negotiation skills managing long-term customer relationships. Experience working and thriving in a multicultural environment Proven ability to complete risk analysis and risk mitigation plans Ability to look ahead in a complex project and understand potential obstacles in product delivery Communication skill and the appreciation to efficiently work in a multi-cultural team Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated public speaking and presentation comfort/skill and experience. Problem solving based on data gathering, root cause analysis, understanding of conflicting priorities and perspectives, and creativity Strong program and project management skills, including developing/managing schedules and managing issues and risk. BA or BS in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent related experience. 6-10 years of professional work in product or technology management, handset manufacturing and telecom including but not limited to; product development, product management, process alignment, technology development, business development, product marketing, sales operations and research & development, and design. Demonstrated top tier performance at all levels of academic and professional career stages.
