Product Development Markting Manager

We have an opportunity for a Product Development Marketing Manager in our Dallas/Ft. Worth based corporate headquarters.  This position is designed for the superstar who is ready to take on a new challenge.

 

Scope:

Manage the day to day and product development activities for assigned product categories. This position is ultimately responsible for deploying and executing the strategy to grow the business. It encompasses the management of product pipe line in the five year strategic plan and leading the category’s Product Business Teams.

 

Duties and responsibilities:Oversee day to day business sector activities with ultimate responsibility for pricing, profitability, projects undertaken, product road maps and overall business growth.Manage existing lines and product roads maps working with product business teams, cross functional managers, particularly engineering and manufacturing. Achieve launch dates, budget financial returns as developed in the new product development process.Solid experience in Voice of the Customer (VOC) based product development. Solid experience with Design for Six Sigma methodology required. Maintain a portfolio of new products and services for the business sector leveraging but not limited to existing channels and product strategies. Maintain actionable competitive information for product business team, including regular portfolio and SWOT analyses and emerging technology identification.Drive the development of new opportunities through products, channels, processes and technology with appropriate linkage to the company’s strategy, product portfolio and overall strategic plan.Identify and execute marketing-related Six Sigma project work.Maintain high level contact and communication with peers and project leaders working on teams and/or managing the work directly.Apprise upper management of relevant business issues, seeking input as necessary from VPs of sales, marketing, engineering and operations.Deal with outside vendors, partners and competitors as it relates to project management and other work deliverables.Be the company’s expert and focal point for the business sector as it relates to end customers, retailers, distributors, dealers and competitors.

 

Education:

MBA degree preferred; Marketing or Engineering undergraduate required.

 

Summary of Qualifications and skills required:Five to seven years of product development and marketing experience with commanding knowledge of manufacturing environment, sales organizations and multiple channels of trade (retail, professional and two step) preferably in consumer durable or packaged goods.Five (5) years Product development and product marketing background with experience developing product plans and strategy work.Solid knowledge of processes related to brand marketing, VOC based market research, sales training and field communications.Computer literate in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Access and MS Project.Excellent written and oral presentation skills. Solid problem solving skills – Six Sigma Green Belt training highly desirable.Flexibility and adaptability to evolving organization.Action and result oriented. The organization needs a self motivated, high energy individual capable of logically diagnosing symptoms, developing alternative courses of actions and deploying substantiated courses of action.
