At its expanding regional headquarters in Singapore, a record sales growth together with an increasing demand for a localised regional product portfolio currently permit our client to recruit a Product & Category Manager for their professional cleaning equipment series (sweepers, scrubbers and high pressure cleaners). In these highly growth oriented and newly created position you will be acting at the interface between the category management division at Headquarters, your regional organization in Singapore, and existing sales offices in Greater China, India, and all over South East Asia, trying to better position and improve the products of the company in its markets of operation.
Doing so, the spectrum of this versatile position will include in detail:
- to identify and explore new business opportunities of your products and to coordinate relevant regional product developments with the R&D departments in charge,
- to channel feedback from existing and potential clients back to Sales, Marketing, R&D and manufacturing in order to continuously improve and develop your product solutions,
- to further coordinate and develop the functions of a growing team,
- to prepare sales and marketing plans in interaction with Headquarters, and to implement them within the relevant sales and technical teams,
- to prepare and actively contribute to marketing events, product training and documentation, new marketing material, sales campaigns, web appearances, distributor incentive programs, etc…,
- and to pursue an active controlling of sales and marketing efforts and results, sales and distributor performances, product lifecycles and the like.
Qualification
This challenging position requires a business or a technical degree and considerable prior experience in sales, marketing, or product management of durable / semi durable goods (like construction or material handling equipment, tools and vehicles, building material, outdoor and gardening devices, household appliances, electronic equipment, and the like).
You should have worked in interface positions within international companies before, operating in various local Asian markets (like China, Hongkong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and of course Singapore), and reporting both locally and to Headquarters in Europe. A fluent background in English, a well structured and pro-active approach to your job, and familiarity with a highly brand driven, price and quality conscious company would be very helpful.
