PROCUREMENT DATA ANALYST

 

U. S. Steel has an immediate opening for a Procurement Data Analyst in the Procurement Support Department located at our Headquarters’ in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

 

The primary focus of this job is to utilize a data quality software application, reporting tools, and basic desktop applications to cleanse the data in our Procurement and Materials Management system that is used to identify and classify materials and services.  This data is used by the various operating facilities for purchasing and inventorying parts and services on and off site.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Purchasing and Materials Management System Data Cleansing Profile the parts and services data and develop processes to automate formatting and remove redundancy. Cleanse parts and services data Improve Descriptions Adding information from the Manufacturer or Vendor Modify the description to follow a standardized format Assign the correct Manufacturer and Vendor, Model, and Part Numbers Complete attribute templates that contain the characteristics of the part or service Administer the attributes and templates that contain the characteristics. Identify, match, and remove duplicate parts and services Develop and enforce data governance standards

 

UNSPSC Understand classification and codification schemas Participate in global governance of our product and services classification schema.

 

ERP Participate in new ERP system data integration efforts. Participate in implementing the new classification and codification schema

 

Trillium Primary user and administrator of our data quality software tool Liaison with the software vendor Responsibility to coordinate issues with the software and contact the software vendor’s customer support to resolve issues Perform data cleansing on Business Name and Address information.

Job Requirements:
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related course of study. Candidate must be able to work independently, be self-motivating, self-regulating, and participate in teams. Candidate must also be assertive, a quick learner, have excellent communications. Candidates must have strong computer skills, and, in particular, strong skills in database management, reporting, and MS Office tools.
