The successful candidate must be a hands-on, innovative worker with the ability to manage a number of simultaneous tasks within a dynamic team environment.The work scope encompasses the support and development of product design configurations and/or individual components and the performance data associated with developments of Fiberglass Composite Materials. A solid working knowledge of the first principals of materials engineering is essential. Excellent analytical skills with a practical bent on applied research and development projects will be utilized in this position.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Process Engineer must be capable to independently execute research and development projects Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations.Conduct hands-on experiments with the relevant equipment, materials and techniquesPerforms standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project.Initiate improvement projects from ideas discussed at the operation level.Create and Document test results, technical reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.Reports to Sr. Material ScientistWORK ENVIRONMENT:Work performed in a production environmentExposed to fiberglass, resin, paint, wood and vinyl materialsClick here to apply via the Milgard Career Opportunity PortalJob Experience:EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Two to five years in a relevant engineering discipline.Process development experience preferred EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAININGEngineering or similar technical degree, Plastics, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Strong analytical skills to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requirevaluation of identifiable factEnthusiasm for working in a diverse, demanding, and exciting technology environmentDemonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for defining problems and obtaining solutionSolid skills in planning and organization with an ability to plan and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programsAbility to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
