Responsibilities include: 1.Design, programming and support for the existing Dec System. 2.Migration programming from the Dec System to a HP Itanium, Thin Client system. 3.Maintain the new thin-client PC hardware and software and possibly the licenses associated with them. 4.Take on the support & development responsibility for the Process Control Intranet. 5.Become responsible for the EMS Oracle Database. Responsible for addressing issues that may impact production or system reliability which include implementing system upgrades and assist in training MTE's to support process control equipment. Being well-informed of quality and reliability issues. Working with vendors on products and performance issues. Staying current with technology advancements in industrial controls. Various other duties as needed to support the business. REQUIREMENTS: B.S. Degree in an Electrical Engineering field is preferred, as well as a background in Information Technology is PREFERREDB.S. Degree in an Engineering field or five years experience in engineering in an industrial setting involving process control systems is REQUIREDSteel Making or manufacturing background is desired but not absolutely necessaryMust be proficient in Fortran 97 or other high level s/w languagesMust be willing to work in a manufacturing environmentAbility to work well with hourly workforceGood documentation, communication and organization skills **Up to 15% travel may be needed between various sites** ***Client offers great benefits package***
