Process Automation Engineer

Gerdau is seeking an accomplished Process Automation Engineer to join the team in Sand Springs, OK.
Job Responsibilities
Assists bending, shearing and loading personnelDirects, coordinates, monitors and supervises general engineering services including mechanical, electrical, civil and steel mill production processes involving plant construction projects, alterations, installations, maintenance, and production processes of plant facilities and equipmentProvides technical experience to Rolling Mill and Rolling Mill maintenanceDesigns or develop new or alterations to old structures, systems, and equipmentProvides timely and accurate cost estimates on proposed projectsAnalyzes and makes effective recommendations as to modifications, renovations, rework, and replacement of facilities and equipment and processesSupervises and coordinates major installations, alterations, additions, etc., to ensure timely completion within specifications and with minimal disruption to productionResponsible for safety of employees and effectively administers safety programsProperly interprets and administers corporate, plant, and departmental policies and programsActively supports and participates in Rolling Mill teambuilding effortsEnsures all environmental practices and guidelines are followed.Makes recommendations for cost savings, production, safety, and quality improvements
Minimum Qualifications
· BS Electrical Engineer or related
· Knowledge of PLC and Level 1 Automation plus design/trouble-shooting issues
· Knowledge of conveyer/material handling systems
· 5-10 years in PLC programming, troubleshooting, HMI development, with experience with ABB or similar systems and Wonderware or similar HMI
· Must have strong communications skills
· Must have strong innovation and drive to improve skills
