Pro-E Design Engineer - Oil and Gas Industry

The Design Engineer is responsible for all activities related to the design of PDC drill bits.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Communicate with applications personnel to establish design requirements.Use custom software to develop bit designs.Use Pro Engineer for drawing generation, 3D modeling, and advanced part surfacing.Effective communication with NC programming and production personnel regarding bit design.Use various software and systems to support external and internal customers.Maintain and work with design database to document available bit designs and their associated information.Create technical product bulletins.Create bills of material on products to be manufactured.Review bit orders and create production packages.Participate in design reviews.Participate in product/process improvement teams.Occasional travel to other production facilities to share product standards and best practices.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:Engineering or Technical degreeHigh level of proficiency with Pro-e software.Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical literature, professional journals, technical procedures, engineering drawings, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, managers, clients and customers.Ability to apply advanced mathematical skills and concepts such as trigonometry.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and operate a computer.The use of a computer in this position requires good visual acuity.Extended periods of time operating a computer keyboard and mouse requires the employee to practice good posture and avoidance of repetitive stress and strain injuries.
