Print Center Operator Associate

Location: Milwaukee, WI 53201 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Pay Rate: 12.00 - 15.00 USD /hour Reference Code: 112244567 JOB STATEMENT:  Responsible for  ensuring that all Xerox network production and check printing is  completed according to schedule.   RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:  1.  Objective: Identify and respond to all hardware and peripheral device problematic situations as observed in the Print Center.    Responsibility or Duty: a) Alert appropriate (documented) primary support staff that assistance is required.b) Create & maintain problem incident documentation (Remedy) for all errors/problems identified.c) Document all problem response activitiesd) Provide direct assistance to off-site staff - read displays, logs, error messages.e) Carry out corrective actions as directed by on/off site staff 2.  Objective: Coordinate service activities for all equipment failures. Responsibility or Duty: a) Service calls are initiated within 15 minutes of failure notification.b) Provide direct assistance to service provider as required.   3.  Objective: Meet daily check processing requirements.    Responsibility or Duty: a) Log check type  and check quantity.b) Seal checks as required.c) Distribute checks per procedure.d) Replenish check stock   4.  Objective: Meet daily print production schedules.    Responsibility or Duty: a) View SUN Servers attached to DP100 printers to identify outstanding print requests.b) Enter commands to manage print jobs.c) All output print bins are checked a minimum of every 30 minutes. d) Reports are separated and distributed to the appropriate user per banner page instructions.e) Off-shift production printing is completed and available for distribution by 7:00 am. Next business day.f)  Secure confidential reportsg) Fill input stackersh) Replenish stocki) Review banner pages and/or consult report cross reference to ensure proper report distributionj) Manage printer problems as needed. Printer jams, operator maintenance issues, place service calls     5.  Objective:  Effectively maintains security of data.   Responsibility or Duty: a) Set up and maintain logs recording check printingb) Control and distribution of all confidential reports per documented procedures.c) Control and distribution of all a/p and payroll checks   6.  Objective:  Maintain a safe working environment in the Data Center.     Responsibility or Duty: a) Ensure that  all safety policies are adhered to and unsafe conditions identified andresolved.b) Have full working knowledge of EPO and Fire Systems in the Data Center c) Enforce Housekeeping Standards.  7.  Objective:  Maintain adequate inventory of Xerox printer supplies and consumable  items issued .    Responsibility or Duty: a)  Computer supplies, printer supplies, and stock paper are maintained for the Print  Center.b)  Ensure that Stock-outs of required inventory items do not occur.  20. Objective:  Create new and innovative ideas to improve productivity.     Responsibility or Duty: a) Develop and improve procedures to increase effectiveness of the Data Center Print Specialist.b) Provide technical/operational expertise in the development, update, and implementation of new and existing operational processes and tools that are required to perform our jobs.   EXPECTATIONS:· Manage all Print Center  correspondence in a timely manner.· Provide prompt customer support by returning all incoming phone calls that were missed within 10 minutes from the time the voice message was left.· Ensure that all High Priority problems are escalated to the Print Center  manager during the shift.· Provide guidance and support for fellow team members.· Promote a positive attitude in the workplace.· May be required to work 12 hour shifts, evening hours and/or weekend and holidays. All team members are expected to help cover open shifts when possible   RELATIONSHIPS: 1.  Communicate with other members of information systems and various departments on system related matters.2.  Reports Print Center problems to the responsible individuals.3.  Coordinates workload with fellow computer operators.4.  Conducts written and verbal shift turnover with incoming operator   EQUIPMENT: 1.  Unix Sun Sparc 2 workstation2.  Computer printing equipment.  Xerox DP100  3.  Moore Check  folder/sealer equipment  OPERATING SYSTEMS: 1.  WINDOWS XP2.  SUN UNIX  EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  Two years college level education in data processing, MIS or computer science or equivalent.   KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:   1.  Familiarity with computer printing operations.2.  Remedy problem reporting software3.  Internet Explorer4. Lotus Notes5.
